Thanks to Sharon Hadway and Chris Ritchie, from the Ministry of Forest, Lands and Natural Resource Operations, for their presentation at PFLA’s 19th annual forestry conference in Parksville, BC, June 5th, 2014.

The goal of the presentation was to help understand the obligations and benefits of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the Private Forest Landowners Association, the Ministry of Forest, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and the Ministry of Environment regarding critical wildlife habitat in British Columbia.

Along with an overview of the Species at Risk Act (SARA), and a description of how SARA works, the presentation outlines the goals and benefits of an integrated “made in B.C.” approach to protecting habitat for species at risk.

For those of you who couldn’t make the conference, we’ve included the PowerPoint presentation below. You can click the circled arrows to move through the slides or click the icon in the bottom right corner to expand the image to full screen.
