Important: B.C. logging tax changes are coming soon. On December 8, 2014 the B.C. Ministry of Finance will introduce administrative changes to the B.C. logging tax system.

The new changes will include:

  • Online services — Individuals and businesses involved in logging operations in BC will have access to the new eTaxBC online system. eTaxBC will allow you to:
  • access and update your account information online
  • correspond securely with administrators
  • file and pay tax returns online
  • Tax returns — The following revised logging tax return forms will be available December 8, 2014, online at www.gov.bc.ca/incometaxes (click on Logging Taxes and then Forms and Publications). Please note, old returns will not be accepted after May 31, 2015.
  • Logging Tax Return of Income (FIN 542S)
  • Logging Tax Return of Income for Processors (FIN 542P)
  • Tax account numbers — As part of the system update, new account numbers will automatically be assigned to all existing logging tax accounts. After December 8th, 2014 administrators will send a letter to existing logging tax account holders advising them of their new tax account numbers and explaining how to enroll in eTaxBC.

The provincial government’s website will be updated to include information about how to enroll for access to eTaxBC and set up an account online.
